What you'll do

We are looking for an experienced full-stack developer with a particular focus on back-end development while still taking on front-end tasks. Our team was originally part of Lexion and recently acquired by Docusign. We offer the best of both worlds: a startup small company feel, with the resources and backing of Docusign. You will be joining a team focusing on leveraging Lexion's best-in-class AI to build features and products for Docusign's large customer base. Some of your top priorities will be focusing on highly scalable and highly available microservices while at the same time building the user facing functionality.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to Sr. Director, Engineering.

Responsibility

  • Perform development tasks as key contributor by consistently delivering complex engineering projects
  • Articulate clear Software Engineering strategies, plans, goals and objectives across multiple Engineering domains, projects and teams, including cross-functional partners
  • Guide and mentor other engineers through all facets of engineering and product building
  • Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to continuously increase the teams productivity and efficiency
  • Stay current with the latest development best practices and share your findings with the team
  • Take full ownership of some of our components, from development to testing to performance tuning
  • Raise issues proactively that might impact delivery commitments
  • Lead self and others through new concept development and implementation
  • Contribute to and drive a culture of building scalable and highly available systems
  • Research new features and technologies
  • Think about how to solve problems in scale and build fault tolerant systems
  • Lead troubleshooting and remediation quickly during high severity incidents
  • Deliver on the most complex and foundational layers of design and code
  • Responsible for sharing and adoption of best practices for performance and availability for one or more functional area

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years related experience with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Back end development experience
  • Experience in modern server-side development using modern programming languages like .NET (our preferred platform), JVM (Java/Scala), NodeJS, or others
  • Experience with NoSQL and SQL
  • Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies
  • Experience working with scalable microservices
  • Experience making improvements to existing large code base
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems
  • Fluency in English both verbal and written

Preferred

  • Passion for new technologies
  • Experience working for a SaaS company
  • Experience working independently and in team environment as needed
  • A track record of being a self-starter - individual/team responsibility is our main driver in the development work
  • Experience with React/Typescript
  • Practical experience with any Cloud technologies: Azure, Kubernetes, AWS, etc
  • Experience in designing and implementing RPC protocols
  • Strong interest or documented experience in large scale microservice architectures
  • Focus on writing high quality code that is easy to maintain and read by others
  • Strong understanding and experience in agile methodologies

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $171,500.00 - $277,025.00 base salary

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $164,800.00 - $242,225.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
