OUC - The Reliable One, an industry leader and the second-largest municipal utility in Florida, is offering an internship program in the Transformation group.

We are looking for a Data Literacy Intern - Summer 2025. During the internship, you will be involved in:

  • Supporting data training project
  • Setting data literacy training program and presenting complex concepts to senior staff
  • Generating high level PowerPoint, videos, and other visual aid content
  • Coordinating meeting calendars, guest speakers, forum chat questions, etc.
  • Partnering with Data Engineering intern to develop additional items based on identified

Internship Eligibility:

  • Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in a degree seeking program.
    Academic status of Junior and above
  • Program of study: Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Instructional Design, Education Technology, Project Management, Adult Learning, Communications, Public Relations, or similar
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, 3.3 and above preferred
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to commit to a full-time schedule between May 19, 2025 through August 15, 2025

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Data Literacy Skills - ability to research, understand, and explain data concepts, including basic statistics and data engineering concepts, fundamentals of software engineering, etc.
  • Presentation Skills - proficiency in creating and delivering high-level PowerPoint presentations with the ability to simplify complex concepts for senior staff and non- technical audiences
  • Familiarity with instructional design and curriculum development and Adult Learning Principles
  • Multimedia content creation- creating visual aids, videos, and other multimedia content such as PowerPoint, video editing software, and graphic design applications
  • Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Communication and interpersonal skills - written and verbal

Compensation: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour, varies depending the education level

Schedule: Full-Time (up to 40 hours per week) - Hybrid Schedule
