Database Administrator Category: Engineering Employment Type: Contract Reference: BH-379993 Database Administrator: Our client is looking for an Database Administrator. You will help perform regular maintenance such as software updates, back ups and resolving any issues that may arise. Scope: Manage and maintain our PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, and Kafka, ensuring high availability and reliability on our in-house kubernetes platform. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as reindexing, backups, patching, and software upgrades. Monitor the performance and health of our databases, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Design and implement growth strategies for our databases, ensuring they can handle our organization's increasing data needs. Collaborate with software developers and other scientific computing staff to optimize database performance and support application development. Develop and implement security measures to protect our databases from unauthorized access or data breaches. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. At least 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator. Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Kafka. Extensive experience with database design, performance tuning, and optimization. Experience with database security best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Estimated Min Rate: $75.00 Estimated Max Rate: $85.00 Note: Any pay ranges displayed are estimations.
