Job Information:

Must possess a proven background in the maintenance troubleshooting field. A 2-year associates degree in industrial electronics/maintenance or related field highly desireable. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of Lean and support all Lean initiatives. Maintain equipment through the Lean transition through Lean strategies and tools, effective communication, and team skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to troubleshoot in Extrusion, Press, and Bagroom Departments
  • Learn and understand SAP functions for processing work orders, ordering parts, etc,.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits
  • PLC understanding preferred
  • Breakdown maintenance - Repair of equipment after failure. Practice of 5 Why and Error Proofing Lean principles
  • Corrective maintenance - Improvement of equipment, in addition to repair.
  • Predictive maintenance - Daily or weekly inspections, cleaning, adjusting, lubricating and replacement. Cleaning to inspect and fundamental TPM practices to prevent early failure
  • Leadership - Must be capable of teaching operators about TPM efforts
  • Train new maintenance technicians as required
  • Performs building maintenance and production equipment PM's
  • Interact and coordinate with outside contractors when needed
  • Conduct fire, safety, sanitation inspections
  • Assume a resource role on the team and supports team resources and other teammates on a day to day basis
  • Maintain accurate maintenance history file

Requirements:

-Experience reading schematics.

-Excellent communication skills.

-A minimum of a high school diploma or GED

-Experience using electronic and computer troubleshooting equipment

-Experience in mechanical troubleshooting

-Must be in good standing

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending and lifting of items up to 50 pounds as needed (Lifting of items exceeding 50 pounds but less than 100 pounds will require a two person lift)
  • Work with and around various solvents, inks, corn starch and cleaning chemicals
  • Access all work areas to include frequent climbing on stands, ladders and stairs
  • Sit, stand, stoop, squat, bend, climb and reach overhead as needed
  • Stand on concrete floors for 12-hour shifts
  • Push/pull objects as needed
  • Utilize fine manipulation skills (including but not limited to the use of a utility knife, scissors, tape measure, typing, writing, and hand tools)
  • Must be able to distinguish colors for product quality purposes
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management at all levels
  • Must be able to follow all safety processes and procedures
  • Must recognize that job requirements will change as training programs, Lean, and TPM Engineering efforts evolve
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job in a safe manner.
  • Utilize communication skills to effectively express both oral and written ideas individually or in group settings

Schedule and Pay:

Work Schedule: 12 hour schedule; must be flexible to work overtime for absences on other shift; Opening on C & D shifts

Wages: Starting rate between $21.00 - $24.00 based on experience and skill level. Candidates may be brought in as a Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 Craft, which affects the starting pay.
