Summary:
The Area Sales Director will lead a team of Region Managers to execute the Pacira business sales strategy and tactics in order to meet or exceed sales revenue goals. This includes developing, implementing and monitoring strategic sales initiatives and tactical plans and programs to achieve business objectives for assigned markets through leadership and effective team management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop area sales plan that aligns with the company's strategic sales plan and revenue goals.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and develop lead creation strategies and processes to augment existing processes
  • Continue to develop and implement a structured, effective sales process, and meet company established sales metrics
  • Build relationships and a strong customer base across all key sales channels.
  • Provide strategic partnerships with hospital and Health Care Systems
  • Develop repeat and new business through participation in industry associations, networking, client revitalization and outreach.
  • Collaborate effectively across the organization (Marketing, Medical, etc) and with external partners
  • Partner effectively with Operations and Supply Chain to provide forecasting data, feedback on supplier experience, product performance and trends to ensure strategic product selection, inventory management and delivery of goods.
  • Lead, coach, counsel and develop a team of highly effective Managers and SAS's by providing consistent meaningful feedback.
  • Execute sales training and best practices to educate our Sales force on effective methods for the sale of our product.
  • Discovering, developing and retaining talent
  • Provide work direction to a regional management team to meet Pacira business sales objectives.
  • Drive sales growth and profit objectives through key initiative
  • Deploy and manage resources to achieve sales objectives
  • Communicate the vision, mission and objectives of Pacira
  • Utilizing all aspects of Pacira's Performance Management Process to consistently measure progress toward objectives, deliver business results and model leadership qualities to enhance personal effectiveness and growth

Interaction:
The incumbent works closely with all functional areas and directly with the commercial team.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Marketing, or related content.
  • MBA from an accredited college or university preferred
  • 5 years of people management experience required
  • 2 years of second line leadership (managing people managers) preferred
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in medical/bio/pharmaceutical sales
  • Prior experience with pain products preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and maintain positive relationships with customers and sales representatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Proven strong organizational and problem solving skills as well as the ability to collaborate and negotiate.
  • Ability to build long term relationships with customers/partners
  • Must be financially literate, possess business acumen and be profit conscious
  • Ability to travel, including by auto and plane, as required to achieve sales objectives
  • Able to travel extensively; valid driver's license in the state in which you reside and safe driving history record; reliable transportation.

The employee is regularly required to travel by automobile as well as by airplane and other forms of public transportation. Work Environment:
The work setting is a remote office environment. This position requires considerable on-site presence at meetings and conferences and Health Care Facilities.
