THE ROLE:

Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for commodity planning and strategic sourcing of Computer Hardware including but not limited to IT Software & Services. Must have prior experience with sourcing, negotiating and contracting Compute hardware and software. Must be a self-starter and able to identify sourcing opportunities and drive sourcing initiatives with key stakeholders with minimum involvement from management.

THE PERSON:

You are a self-starter and adept at identifying sourcing opportunities and driving sourcing initiatives with executives-with minimum involvement from management. Outstanding negotiation and communication skills are critical to this role! You are an excellent communicator and collaborator, who can present to all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage Compute Hardware, IT Software and related Services commodities as the global lead for the company.
• Develop a global procurement strategy; implementing a supplier development program that has an integrated long-term approach on cost, quality, and service.
• Responsible for the development and management of strategic supplier relationships.
• Develop and make recommendations regarding sourcing strategies, requirements planning, and revenue generation using analytics.
• Manage cross-functional and cross site business processes to support operational (PO) process execution. Participate in process improvement initiatives
• Drive supplier performance management process including driving continuous improvement programs with suppliers with limited management involvement
• Lead and participate in projects which cross organizational boundaries with limited management involvement

• Work with stakeholders up to CIO level to understand and set cost targets for managed categories; Develop sourcing strategies, lead competitive bid process & analysis, price negotiation, cost reduction and business awards for the commodity with key suppliers with limited supervision.
• Manage supplier's performance to contractual requirements with limited supervision which meet AMD short- and long-term needs. Negotiate agreements and statement of work for the category. Implement contracts to minimize AMD risk and enable supplier accountability for non-performance
• Lead Supplier Performance Management (SPM) with key suppliers and manage the quarterly scorecard to review service level on cost, technology, quality, service, and flexibility.
• Develop multiyear commodity strategy which fully reflects requirements of the stakeholders. Update on a regular basis to track progress against plan with limited supervision.
• Understand industry trends through on-going market research and benchmarking with limited guidance.
• Execute all activities associated with Source-to-Pay such that orders are issued and invoiced in a timely manner with limited supervision.
• Demonstrate efficient and effective use of strategic sourcing and Procure-to-Pay processes.
• Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on most levels with some manager's advice.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Exercise judgment with limited consultation in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
• Determine methods and procedures on new assignments with limited supervision and may coordinate activities of other personnel as a team lead
• Extensive experience of strategic sourcing experience for a global corporation
• Strategic Sourcing of Computer Hardware & IT Software.

• Market Analytics
• Experience with Ariba Sourcing and SAP S/4 preferred

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's degree in required in Business or Engineering
