Location:

The successful candidate will be expected to work in a hybrid status of reporting to the One Energy Plaza in Jackson, MI every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with home office flexibility on Wednesday and Friday.

We are looking for: Senior Data Visualization Consultant

The Finance Transformation & Technology (FT&T) team is dedicated to revolutionizing the financial operations of the Controller's organization. Our primary goal is to reduce operational effort by 30% by 2030 through the strategic streamlining and automation of processes and tools.

Department Objectives:



  • Launch initiatives focused on modernizing financial operations
  • Simplify complex processes to enhance productivity and accuracy
  • Integrate advanced automation technologies to handle repetitive and time-consuming tasks
  • Develop and deploy automated tools to ensure consistency and reduce manual errors
  • Ensure seamless integration of new tools with existing systems for optimal performance
  • Continuously monitor and assess the impact of implemented changes
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement to sustain long-term efficiency gains
  • Equip team members with the skills needed to adapt to new technologies and processes


The Sr Data Visualization Consultant is responsible for creating and building reports and visual management utilizing existing data sources. The incumbent will be responsible for analysis, planning, design, research, budget monitoring, coordination, facilitation, and communication with customers.

The knowledge and skills involved with this position include but are not limited to:



  • Proficiency in SQL, MS tools including excel, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query
  • Experience analyzing data and building reports
  • Deadline oriented with ability to manage concurrent deliverables
  • Effectively deliver and present work to the appropriate audience
  • Proficient in the development artistry of highly consumable visual reports, dashboards, and data narratives
  • Knowledge of primary data management languages such as like SQL, Python, etc.
  • Ability to connect to variety of data sources proficiently using the queried data in PowerBI
  • Apply data quality assurance practices in the development of data models and resulting output



We encourage you to apply if you have:



  • Associate's degree in data analytics, finance, business, or related field with four (4) or more years of applicable experience


  • [OR] High School Diploma with six (6) or more years of applicable experience



  • Experience analyzing data and building reports using MS tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Query
  • Experience working with a variety of data languages including Python



In this role, you will:



  • Create automation solutions utilizing MS tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Maintain quality of visual management identifying any issues and make updates as needed.
  • Create and disseminate reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material as well as occasional speaking or meeting with stakeholders.
  • Create reports on program performance against metrics and targets.
  • Gather and form reporting requirements, learn subject matter and extract and transform data and reports.
  • Manage projects, applying skills such as reporting and visual development, analysis, planning, design, research, budget monitoring, coordination, facilitation, and communication with customers.
  • Partner with stakeholders, including Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Architects, and IT, to support the integration of data from multiple internal and external sources to be used for reporting.
  • Use computer assisted applications, software and equipment to prepare business analysis support documents.
  • Utilize data from multiple sources (SQL databases, Excel files, flat files, etc.) into integrated views.
  • Add value to stakeholders by providing observations and insights based on data analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary.
