Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assumes responsibilities for the direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) in patient care departments. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the LPN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing. As a Rehabilitation Nurse at Carle Health, you'll play a vital role in helping patients regain their independence and confidence. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert care that emphasizes physical, psychological, and emotional well-being. Qualifications License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Education: Certificate of Completion: Licensed Practical Nurse; College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse Other Knowledge/Skills: Responsibilities Administers medication, hangs IV piggyback antibiotics and fluids, excluding IV push and high-risk medication. Communicates with providers to receive orders and coordinate care for patients. Charts assessments on assigned patients. Completes dressing changes as ordered. Completes trach care as needed. Manages NG, g-tube, j-tube, including feedings and medication as prescribed. Cares for and changes ostomy. Reinforces education and discharge instructions. Charts on care plans. Reviews with patient/family medications, treatment and after visit instructions. Collaborate with providers, therapists, and RNs to develop individualized care plans. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $23.52per hour - $39.28per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
