Telecommunications Engineer

The Telecommunications Engineer will manage the translation of business requirements into telecommunications requirements, designs and orders. They will provide in-depth engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives for government agencies in support of their strategic modernization efforts, provide telecommunications enhancement designs for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures, and provide interface support to telecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and telecommunications strategic program management. The role will support telecommunications infrastructure using technology, and telecommunications engineering best practices; Transport Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), routing protocols, LAN switching, Internet and Intranet systems. The Telecommunications Engineer will lead design efforts that require in-depth technical knowledge of both wide area and local area communications, and may provide daily supervision and direction to support staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and generating of ServiceDesk reports from Cisco Unified Intelligence Center on Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) cluster.
  • Troubleshooting Unified Contact Center Express call routing issues, CTI Route Group, script, Application, CSQ, etc.
  • Configuration of Jabber, voicemail, and IP phone profiles using Cisco Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection (CUC), and Contact Center Express.
  • Resetting of voicemail PIN, troubleshooting of Cisco Contact Center Express Agent audio and connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshooting dial-peers and route pattern on CUCM and CUBE routers.
  • Setting up and troubleshooting iOS smart phones and iPads.
  • Troubleshooting Cisco Unified Presence cluster for Jabber.
  • Migration of Local Area Network equipment, virtual systems, cabling, patching, creation of lan, routing, dial-peers, route pattern, route list, route group, device pool, call forwarding.
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of Agents in CalabrioOne recording system.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a DOJ public trust security background check.
  • Familiar with UpLand InGenius CTI integration with Cisco Finesse web desktop.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ticketing system and integration with InGenius CTI and Cisco Finesse.
  • Familiar with CalabrioOne audio and desktop recording for call center.
  • 1-2 years experience with creation of ACD profiles for Call Center Agents/Specialists.
  • 1-2 years experience in building CUCM, CUC, IM&P, Expressway Edge and Core systems, and UCCX clusters.
  • 1-2 years experience and knowledge of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), H323, SCCP (Skinny), MGCP.
  • 1-2 years experience generating of Certificate Service Request and installation of signed certificates.
  • 1-2 years experience supporting Cisco Webex Control HUB, Webexboard, and Microsoft Teams telepresence systems and applications.
  • 1-2 years experience patching of Cisco Unified Communications systems, CalabrioOne, and InGenius server systems.
  • Familiar with ClickShare, Barco telepresence system, Biamp, QSC-System (softphone integration with Cisco CUCM).
  • 1-2 years experience in configuration of Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) router.
  • Familiar with routing protocols such as BGP, Static, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.
  • Experience with Virtual Lan configuration such as Trunking, 802.1x, port-security, switch virtual interface (SVI).
  • Familiar or experience with RTP, SRTP, SIP standard and security profiles.
  • Familiar with troubleshooting tools such as RTMT, Wireshark.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • CCNA, and/or CCNP (voice /VOIP track) certification.
  • Experience supporting DOJ or other similar federal agencies.

  • Effectively communicate with customers, stakeholders, and technical specialists.
  • This work requires that an individual position themselves to access computer and related equipment connections and be able to transport objects or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
