Your Role:

Reporting to the Plant Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Plant Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for driving supply chain projects, and the planning and scheduling of production and raw materials. The goal is to maximize fulfillment results to our customers while optimizing efficiency of our operation through scheduling. The ideal candidate for the role is collaborative, detail-oriented, structured, results-oriented, a creative problem solver, adept at balancing multiple priorities, a great communicator and never satisfied with the status quo. You will work closely with operations, supply chain and external suppliers to ensure we are producing the right products at the right time, with a focus on efficiency.

This role is based on site in our production facility in Springfield, MO. Minimal travel for company and vendor meetings is required.

What You'll Do:



  • Partner with Plant SCM to evaluate current state supply chain effectiveness and propose and lead initiatives around improvements to our Supply Chain Process.
  • Collaborate with our Digital Transformation team to help implement and drive the goals around new systems and processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, lean, procurement, and logistics to develop and execute a comprehensive master production plan that meets customer demands and optimizes manufacturing resources.
  • Create a weekly material plan that supports the production plan, ensuring that the required raw materials will be in place at the right time, in the right quantities.
  • Effectively communicate the plans to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create and manage a daily production schedule with clear directions to Operations when product and line changeovers need to take place.
  • Closely manages utilization of Nest Run Eggs (input) to optimize finished goods (output)
  • Acts as a "Quarterback" making necessary adjustments and communicating to Operations and Supply Chain
  • Plan and schedule production/materials for shell egg co-manufacturers when they are being utilized for surge capacity.
  • Work closely with the Inventory Control Analyst to ensure accurate production reporting.
  • Represent Operations in supply chain planning meetings (e.g., S&OE)
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across operations and supply planning for ECS.
  • Act as an owner and use your knowledge and skills to support other projects and teams to help propel our business forward!


What You Bring to the Table:



  • Leveling for this role will be as follows:

    • Sr Plant Supply Chain Analyst:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related field
      • 5+ years of experience in operations and/or supply chain; preferably in food & beverage manufacturing


    • Plant Supply Chain Specialist

      • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related field
      • 2+ years of experience in operations and/or supply chain; preferably in food & beverage manufacturing




  • Certification such as CPIM is strongly preferred, ability to obtain within 18 months of employment is required
  • Strong Excel skills/proficiency required; intermediate proficiency for all other MS Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; highly organized
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively to all levels of crew - from hourly crew through leadership
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment and able to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and systems, embrace change and are always open to new challenges

At Vital Farms, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to, skill level, experience, education, training, market demands, and business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current starting annual base salary for this position is $60,000 - $100,000. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum end of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential continued future salary growth.
