Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Grant Manager to join our team! This Grant Manager will assist in the technical and administrative direction and supervision of grant applications and grant-funded projects. This role requires constant communication with project supervisors and clients to ensure that grants-related tasks are completed in accordance with the contract. Manages the administrative function of preparing proposals and proposal presentations to secure financial funding.
Responsibilities
- Perform grant and loan funding management duties. Analyze grant management requirements for awarded projects. Consult with client and support staff to develop a plan for compliance. Help maintain schedule for compliance. Prepare reports and funding disbursement documents, and other grant management documents.
- Ensure program compliance and timely disbursement of funds to client.
- Research funding programs and prepare grant applications as needed, but primarily delegate such work to a Grant Writer or Senior Grant Writer.
- Lead meetings with internal and external clients and program contacts.
- Perform site visits as needed.
- Complete assignments in the specific time periods requested while ensuring accuracy, completeness, quality, and thoroughness of results. Meet company standards for productivity and profitability.
- Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process for assigned tasks.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, consultants, government agencies, involved communities and contractors in connection with the projects.
- Establish & maintain positive relationships with co-workers, support and build others on the team and across disciplines/offices.
- Lead and manage complex grant management tasks and teams of support staff, including for federal programs.
- Capable of managing a Grant Writer and/or delegate work to Grant Writer(s).
- Has direct contact with and maintains strong relationships with clients.
- Mine work from clients. Prepare proposals and help secure contracts.
- Assist in the assembly of pricing, estimating, scoping and marketing strategies for proposed grants projects.
- Can work entirely independent when needed with minimal direction or correction from supervisor or grant manager.
- Make decisions with little oversight regarding grants complexities and methods.
- Assist with staff training.
- Assist with grants team business development and marketing tasks including prospective client presentations, presentations to internal staff, marketing-level proposal preparation, conference attendance and business plans.
- Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
- Prepare effective work plans, schedules and man-hour budgets for tasks.
- Perform client management duties and participate in business development efforts, as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Political Science, Philosophy, Public Administration or related field preferred.
- 5+ years in related field.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
- Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge, and acumen (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Demonstrates intermediate grant writing and grant management skills with local governments and the civil engineering field. Experience with the following funding programs is preferred: FHWA, FEMA, HUD CDBG, EPA Brownfields, USDA, and EPA Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds.

Compensation: $65,000 to $100,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
