The Systems Administrator I provides general System Management for the Hospital's computer operating systems. Installs and maintains operating system software and third party layered products. The Systems Administrator I will be responsible for: Performing system management activities for current and future computer systems, related hardware, software, and networking components. Executing system group activities in alignment with established departmental goals. Recording performance statistics and providing performance tuning and systems security. Participating in hardware and software upgrades as needed. Adhering to new approaches, policies, and procedures to drive continual improvements in the operations of computer hardware and system software. Assisting with the evaluation of current and projected demands for services, as well as current and future state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions. Conducting product evaluations and trials to enhance the productivity of existing equipment, staff time, and software systems. Coordinating and maintaining communication links, data interdependencies, and Production Jobs' relationships across various operating systems and hardware platforms. Following problem resolution and escalation procedures, responding to all operating system problems, resolving them in a timely manner, and seeking assistance when required. To qualify, you must have: Associate's Degree is required in the field of computer science or a closely related field. 3 years of directly related experience is required. Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth, experienced based cross functional knowledge Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well developed writing skills.
