Director Facilities & Construction Portfolio Advisor - West Region
What you will be doing: Premier Staff Collaboration The Director, Facilities & Construction Portfolio Advisor works in conjunction with the Premier staff including Regional Vice President, Region Directors, and Region Analysts. This position will be the key point of Contact in managing construction project engagements, identifying day-to-day Facilities Management and Environmental cost savings initiatives. This position will also participate on Account Plan calls monthly, manage a jointly held Salesforce opportunity pipeline, and update Regional VP and Regional Directors monthly. Premier Member Engagement Builds and maintains relationships with Premier Member Leadership including Senior Management Leaders in Construction Management, Facilities Management, Environmental Services. Engages on Construction/Remodel projects with architects & contractors to influence product specifications and bid language to leverage Premier contractor suppliers. Works with Premier member Director Level roles to identify off contract spend and standardization opportunities to help drive Premier supplier spend and reduce materials and services costs to Premier members. Premier Supplier Engagement Engages with Premier suppliers on a regular basis to review opportunities with Premier members in assigned region. Introduce suppliers as appropriate to Premier Member leadership to review products and services to drive greater contract compliance. Participate in business reviews with suppliers on a monthly and quarterly basis as assigned by Premier leadership. As needed participate in joint calls/visits with Premier members to review cost savings opportunities with Premier supplier representatives. Participates in Product Planning and Contract Management sourcing meetings to ensure a seamless integration throughout the Product Planning, Contract Negotiation and Contract Management processes Reviews product category sourcing needs and recommends utilizing existing contracts, developing custom contracts, or alternative strategy Informs Premier suppliers of specific sourcing needs and opportunities, and communicates barriers/concerns/updates Monitors events (RFP, Member Analysis, Negotiation Meetings) Reviews Terms and Conditions changes requested by suppliers Develops high level procurement strategy for capital projects and facilities / EVS portfolio Conducts collaboration meetings with suppliers to maximize participants' contributions and to develop a creative solution which achieves desired results with members. Reviews savings analysis Evaluates inputs on sourcing options/alternatives, and provides
Responsibility #2 - Vendor Support 25%
Develops a thorough knowledge of the Premier Contracted Suppliers that may support the Premier Member Capital Projects including Construction Services Program, Clinical Equipment, Non-clinical Equipment (including furnishings & food service) and IT/Telecom National Contracted Suppliers. Establishes key contact relationships with National Account representatives; provide structure for introduction of Contracted Suppliers to Members' project teams to ensure an understanding of products available for membership use. Contacts vendors to ensure their awareness of specific projects; identifies local authorized distributors, dealers or suppliers that represent the Contracted Suppliers and can be a venue / source for project bids / pricing as directed by the Members' individual project specifications. Provides general education and individual project bidding support to the Construction Community of general contractors, construction managers and all tiers of subcontractors associated with specifically identified projects. Identifies opportunities for equipment standardization with resulting aggregation opportunities to reduce costs. Maximizes visibility of all equipment opportunities to selected Premier members' facilities development management teams.
Responsibility #3 - Project Management 25%
Provides management support to the member's project team in educating the team about the scope and applicability of the Contracted Suppliers for Members during the schematic or design development phase of a project. Provides a comprehensive review of the design documents (drawings and specifications) and identifies the Contracted Suppliers included in the scope of the project. * Identifies local authorized distributors, dealers and suppliers of specified Contracted Suppliers, assembles list of same in prescribed format and shares with Member, along with instructions on how to access these Contracted Suppliers. Provides support during project bidding phase, including participation in pre-bid conferences where appropriate or required. Reviews aggregate purchase needs and, where feasible, facilitates or leads local negotiation of contracts with contracted suppliers. Reviews all bids or components of bids, providing necessary analytical support for use by selected Region 7 members in the award of contracts to Premier Contracted suppliers. Oversees gathering of Premier Contracted Supplier Spend information from selected Premier members and third-party contractors at the start of construction and end of construction to ensure the members are credited for Premier Contract spend in their respective projects. Assists Revenue Reconciliation as required to help recovery of unreported administrative fees as it pertains to construction and capital
Responsibility #4 - Program Development 10%
Brings new ideas and thought leadership to the program to enhance the offering and creates greater opportunities for savings by the member and potential for utilization of the Premier Contracted Suppliers in the members' Capital Construction Program. Promotes the development and release of success stories utilizing the Premier Contracted Suppliers. Works closely with Premier Regional Manager: Facilities and Construction Services Program, to identify new categories for sourcing.
Responsibility #5 - Portfolio Promotion 10%
Provides presentations, education, and advice, creating a general awareness for the make-up of the Capital Project Program, its portfolio of Contracted Suppliers and the management strategies of its use. Educates 3rd parties (Designers (Architect & Engineers), Contractors, Equipment Planners, etc.) about the benefits of the Construction Services Program.
Responsibility #6 - Reporting 5%
Reports to Manager on status of activities including but not limited to: Premier Member Engagements, Supplier Engagements. Identify the scope of opportunities for Premier on a project-by-project basis. Identification and progress reporting on active project participation in Construction materials & systems, non-clinical capital, portfolios, with details on awarded contracts to Premier Contracted Suppliers. Contracted Supplier Spend Reports for individual projects.
Required Qualifications Work Experience: Years of Applicable Experience - 7 or more years
Education: Bachelors (Required)
Preferred Qualifications Skills:
Enterprise Selling in Construction & Facilities Management materials/services. Construction Project Management or Facilities Management experience Supply Chain Contracting Experience with Construction, Facilities Management, EVS materials and services.
Experience:
8+ Years Applicable Experience Construction project management to include managing long-term capital projects and a demonstrated ability to manage capital budgets. Facilities Management experience in running operational projects like Facilities Assessments, Energy Reviews, Life Safety Reviews, etc. Knowledge of products and regulations in the Environmental Services area of Acute Healthcare Supply Chain Management, value analysis, and/or contracting in an acute healthcare setting. Experience implementing GPO contracts preferred.

Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $99,000 - $185,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
