Shift: NIGHTS: 7 on - 7 off. Rotation begins on Thursday and ends on Wednesday; Thursday - Saturday 8pm -8am; Sunday - Wednesday 10pm -8am.

Compensation:

* Base Pay Range: $19.15 - $30.23 per hour, based on experience

* Shift Differentials:

o Additional $2.00 per hour for NIGHT shift

o Additional $1.50 per hour for WEEKEND shift

* Sign-On Bonus: $1,500

Join our dynamic MU Hospital Pharmacy team as a sterile compounding pharmacy technician, where your expertise will make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our patients in the hospital. Our University Hospital Pharmacy location is located within the main University Hospital campus and we partner with other healthcare professionals to improve the lives of our patients.

You will assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including USP 797 & USP 800 compounded sterile products, and manage inventory while collaborating closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Prepare sterile compounded medications in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines.

Perform daily and monthly cleanroom and equipment maintenance as described in USP 797, USP 800, and department policies and procedures. Maintain organized inventory of compounding supplies, medications, and personal protective equipment.

Accurately calculate and measure medications for prescription orders.

Document compounding activities including product preparation, dispensing, and quality assurance.

Ensure compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations including hazardous medications.

Adhere to safety protocols including personal protective equipment use and handling hazardous medications.

Perform all other duties of a pharmacy technician.

Complete all assigned competencies including but not limited to required media fill and gloved fingertip sampling.

Train pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy personnel in sterile compounding areas.

May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of college or one (1) year of experience. Experience with sterile compounding technology and automated compounding devices. Two (2) years of healthcare experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
