Job Purpose

Honda Aero LLC in Burlington, NC is looking for a team member who contributes to the overall mission and goals of HAI by being responsible for the manufacturing accounting, inventory tracking, budget analysis, and reporting.

Key Accountabilities

  • Setup and monitor data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing and variance information to management. Responsible for running the cost accounting process and reviewing standards costs regularly for updates. Perform ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, and margin analysis. Review standard and actual costs and provide accurate cost analysis within scheduled deadlines provided.
  • Complete activities related to budget which includes working with departments to ensure timely reporting, monitoring and analyzing accounting data, producing financial reports and performing financial profitability analysis. Provide to Business Management along with recommendations for improvements on profitability and financial objectives. Publish budgets meeting the required schedules as provided by corporate.
  • Responsible for Inventory at HAI and GEHonda including Physical Inventory and Inventory Accounting. Coordination of physical inventory counts and cycle counts. Coordinate and Investigate cycle counting variances to resolve issues.
  • Work on special projects as required.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.




Minimum Experience



  • Minimum of 5 or more years of accounting experience preferably in cost accounting.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.

Other Job-Specific Skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong technical knowledge in account principals, practices and procedures.
  • Previous experience with cost accounting is essential.
  • Experience in Aerospace is helpful (production and aftermarket).
  • Knowledgeable and innovative in identifying opportunities for business improvements.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and ERP systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
  • Strong ability to function as a team player.

Working Conditions

  • Climate-controlled office environment.
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection and safety shoes.
  • Ability to travel (domestic) 1-2 times per year average.
