Summary of Job Duties:This position will also be closely aligned with the Cardiovascular Service Line staff and collaborate on financial projects and will have a reporting relationship to the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology Administrator/Cardiovascular Service Line Administrator. This position will also be closely aligned with the Cardiovascular Service Line staff and collaborate on financial projects and will have a reporting relationship to the CV Service Line Administrator/Nursing Director. The position provides operational and management oversight for the COM Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree Business administration, health care administration, finance, accounting or related.

  • Plus minimum of 6 years experience in academic medical center operations, planning, finance and administration.

  • Ability to collaborate with clinical partners to ensure seamless operations between academic and clinical enterprise.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or Terminal Degree

  • Business administration, health care administration, finance, accounting, legal or related.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience.

Finance and Budget

The position requires finance, budgeting and accounting knowledge, as well as knowledge of institutional and divisional/departmental business and financial processes, and the ability to address problems and/or coordinate resolution with the appropriate campus resources.

Administrative Management/Human Resources

The position requires knowledge of recruiting, personnel management, and faculty promotion and tenure processes, and the ability to manage a diverse group of professional and administrative staff.

Operations and Leadership

The position requires the ability to interact and develop positive working relationships with a diverse group of professionals at all levels within the organization, community, industry and state and federal governments.

Customer Service

The position serves as the business administrator for business, financial, and operational issues between the two tightly integrated entities. Within the regulations of UAMS and the COM and with the division director's/department chair's/ Service Line Director's concurrence, provides administrative guidance for recruitment activities, provides oversight for departmental HR issues, provides oversight for expenditures and operational issues related to departmental educational programs, and provides major guidance and support in the application of the budget process and the monthly operating budgets and grants management.
