At Lam, as a Manager of Supply Chain Business Managers (SBMs), you play a crucial role in partnering with suppliers to drive operational excellence and interfacing with internal customers to deliver to Lam's goals. Your data-driven approach ensures effective planning, scheduling, and monitoring material movement through our dynamic global production cycle. You'll benchmark and monitor supplier performance to manage risk. By driving continuous supplier process improvements, you support the productivity and efficiency of Lam's operations.

What You'll Do

As a SBM Manager, you will lead a team of SBMs to drive delivery and supplier operational excellence within a global supply chain. This role is within the Supply Chain Operations team and is instrumental in helping Supply Chain navigate through record ramps and other operational complexities thrown our way. In this position, you will help manage global factories, spare parts program and have responsibility for multiple suppliers within the OEM commodity.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the SBM function
  • Plans, schedules, and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases
  • Defines metrics and monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement. Regularly evaluate quality and performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection.
  • Continuously working on process improvement to deploy & develop best known methods related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., JIT, Kanban, min/max) & manufacturing strategies
  • Established goals with supplier to ensure material delivery meets forecasted demand
  • Represents supplier business management on a cross-functional commodity teams that focuses on supply challenges, and to ensure internal/external customer needs are satisfied
  • Works with engineering and the supplier to resolve complex problems to ensure on-time delivery of critical material to support customer and company requirements
  • Develops presentation, white papers, process flow charts to support continues process improvement projects
  • Works with Strategic Commodity Managers (SCMs) and suppliers to monitor product cost, preventing negative PPV and supporting cost reduction efforts.
  • May work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies
  • Drive the improvement of thesuppliers' manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and on-time delivery
Who We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5-8 years of supervisory experience
  • Ten (10) years' experience in managing global factories and various commodities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with scalable and repeatable results
  • Knowledge, experience and practical use of Microsoft Excel, SAP or other ERP systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills - Macros, Pivot Tables, Data Lookup/Indexing, Dashboards
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% (including domestic and international), or as required
  • Public speaking/ Executive level presentation skills
  • Experience in managing $500M+ of supplier spend

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
