JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Program Manager Position: Exempt Location: Ansonia, CT Manager: Yes Reports to: General Manager SUMMARY OF ROLE The Program Manager manages and coordinates customer projects at Westfall Sites, including new customer projects, transfer projects, sustaining engineering support, and site/company Continuous Improvement Projects. The Program Manager works directly with Westfall Customers, and closely with Sales Team, Quoting Team, Tooling Sites (internal and external), Site Manufacturing/Engineering/Quality Teams, and Customer Service Team to drive projects from award through validation and into production. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall responsibility for customer and internal projects from award through production launch.
- Deliver new projects through all phases of development and production to meet company on time delivery, quality and profitability expectations.
- Develop full understanding of site procedures, systems, and personnel to efficiently manage projects of varying scope.
- Develop and maintain project plans, communication plans, action trackers for all projects
- Responsible for the development and maintenance all site related documents and systems (i.e. BOMs, mold numbers, item masters, engineering project books, post mortem meeting minutes, etc.)
- Schedule and manage all customer and internal/site meetings as required.
- Consulting with the customer's technical personnel on product design, materials selection, and quality requirements.
- Responsible for scheduling and executing customer validations in conjunction with manufacturing and quality teams
- Work with external suppliers (i.e. tooling suppliers, resin suppliers, automation/equipment suppliers, packaging suppliers) to drive project success. Track all vendor activities to determine priorities, manage resources, and assure on-time delivery.
- Estimates or revises costs on existing or new molding/ assembly programs and directs modifications and changes to existing molds from customer revisions.
- Responsible for tracking all active projects and communicating status to senior management.
- Facilitate technical and problem-solving discussions with customers, suppliers, and internal Subject Matter Experts to determine root cause of technical issues to solve problems.
- Initiates and drives RFQ's for tooling purchases, tooling repair process, qualification part orders, as well as tracking delivery of all purchases related to tooling or qualifications.
- Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction by developing/building lasting client relationships through building a knowledge base of each client's business, organization and objectives.
- Establish, track and report on performance to project budgets using common finance metrics and planning tools
- Complies with ISO 13485 procedures and policies.
- Complies with all safety procedures and policies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Program Management preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management in a GMP/regulated environment, medical device and consumer packaging experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
- Solid knowledge and experience of injection molding tooling, processing, quality, materials, or product design.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with project management tools/processes, i.e. Microsoft Project, action trackers, ERP systems (IQMS preferred), quoting systems, etc.
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills required.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and Solid Model CAD experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to 55-60 lbs. occasionally during the day
- Must be able to climb on machines, towers, silos, and/or buildings
- Must be able to fit in a confined space for periods of time
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 25 lbs
- Frequent pushing, pulling, twisting, balancing, and stooping
