HJF is seeking a Data Manager III to coordinate all aspects of the data management processes in support of various activities within the Program. The Data Manager works directly with the Partnerships and Innovation Directorate's Program Managers and Senior Data Scientist to integrate partnership data and documentation across the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency's (DPAA) case management platforms.

This position will be in support of DPAA's Partnerships and Innovation directorate. The DPAA is the US Department of Defense Agency responsible for the recovery and identification of fallen US service members from WWII to the gulf war. Its mission is to provide the fullest possible accounting of missing personnel to their families and the nation. To accomplish this, the DPAA sends out organic and partner investigation and recovery missions worldwide, and recovered material is analyzed in the state-of-the-art DPAA laboratory. DPAA expands its recovery and identification capacity and capabilities through various innovation initiatives, and partners with research and academic institutes to address research requirements.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.


Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Data Scientist with all tracking, monitoring, and evaluating tasks for data/technical requirements of the PI team.
  • Configuration, customization, support, maintenance and improvement of our Salesforce platform.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual assessment processes that evaluate the performance of the PI Directorate's activities.
  • Manage operational elements of one or more individual data projects. Document project scope and plan, confirming objectives, technologies, schedules, milestones and deadlines, funding, and available resources with key stakeholders. Produce and distribute project status reports and documents.
  • Provide high-level administrative and technological support to the directorate. Coordination of various administrative tasks with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide auxiliary support to the integration team lead.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or related field. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate clearly, work well with others, identify and resolve problems, and deliver results as a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, data analysis software, customer management software such as Salesforce.
  • Experience working independently with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Ability to learn new software and incorporate its use into daily work functions.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Experience in Project Management, Data Analytics, and/or Salesforce Administration is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust Background Check.

Physical Capabilities

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, work well with others, identify and resolve problems, and deliver results as a team.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
  • This is a hybrid position that will require an on-site presence once/week.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $73,800-$105,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
