Summary/Objective:

The Leader in Training Program allows Lippert Leadership to develop the skills of future leaders in all areas of the manufacturing environment. The Leader Trainee will gain exposure to the tools, thought processes, and support systems required to design and implement new strategies within Lippert. Curriculum utilized during the program will provide a roadmap that introduces each Leader Trainee to the infrastructure that Lippert strives for and has been built upon.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Working Conditions:

  1. Primarily on the floor/in the work, could be exposed to elements (heat, snow, etc.)
  2. May sit or stand for several hours at a time.
  3. Repetitive use of hands to operate machinery.
  4. 1st shift, 2nd shift, and off-shift opportunities available.

Qualifications:

Three to five years in a manufacturing environment, or technical or bachelor's degree in one of the following areas is preferred:

  1. Engineering:Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial
  2. Manufacturing: Business Administration, Global Business Strategy, Leadership and Supervision, LEAN Manufacturing
  3. Supply Chain:Purchasing Supply Chain Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field of study

Essential Functions:

  1. Master learning modules that build a foundation for leadership within Lippert, including:
    1. Accounting
    2. Engineering
    3. Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
    4. Innovation
    5. Inventory Control
    6. Leadership & Culture
    7. Lean
    8. Manufacturing
    9. Purchasing
    10. Quality
  2. Complete online eLearning and in-person courses to supplement day-to-day learnings and interactions
  3. Establish short-term and long-term program goals and expectations
  4. Develop relationships with various team members and leaders
  5. Innovation/Continuous improvement, Quality, Leadership and Culture, and Customer Service mindset
  6. Learn internal systems such as Microsoft D365, Tabware, Enovia, etc.
  7. Be passionate about winning and eager/hungry to learn more.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring. The ultimate goal is to lead team(s) and/or process(es).

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are decided by the hiring manager.

Travel:

Local travel is required for this position.

If this is for a non-Indiana location, the candidate will possibility relocate to Indiana for the period of the LIT training program.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Three to five years in a manufacturing environment, or technical or bachelor's degree in preferred area.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
