About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager for a role that involves the opportunity to shape and enhance the developer experience for our engineering and IT staff. This position requires strong technical skills to help bring the best solutions out of your team, the ability to lead in a fast-paced environment and a proven track record building and managing successful engineering teams. Additionally, you will be responsible for your services and making difficult product decisions that prioritize competing needs.


Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple projects focused on the full lifecycle of our developer experience and deliver frequent value through effective planning and management.
  • Build and motivate a high-performing engineering team focused on operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with different business units and product teams to develop and complete the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Use technical expertise and industry trends to influence software development standard methodologies.
  • Handle day-to-day activities of the engineering team using Agile/Scrum methodology.


Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:



  • BS or Master's in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success in building and leading engineering teams with experience in development and management.
  • Ability to present complex technical information to executives and non-technical leaders.
  • Familiarity with developer tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Tilt, Backstage/Cortex) and cloud platforms (AWS or Google Cloud).

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

In addition, this role

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$163,000 $244,400 USD
