Rate of Pay: $28/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:


Provide support and troubleshooting for hearing aids, ear molds, and other amplification devices.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Maintain inventories of supplies and check function of equipment.
  2. Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs to hearing aids, ear molds, and other amplification devices.
  3. Modify personal hearing aids to school ready by connecting to Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT) and Digital Modulation (DM) Systems.
  4. Clean hearing aids and other amplification devices
  5. Instruct students/parents in proper use and care of hearing aids and other amplification devices.
  6. Work closely with school health care personnel on troubleshooting student Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT).
  7. In-service classroom teachers and other school personnel on the proper wear and use of Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT) and their connectivity with Interactive Display systems and student devices.
  8. Work closely with the cooperating school audiologist on all equipment issues/needs.
  9. Work closely with District D/HH teachers and staff on student amplification needs.
  10. Work closely with the District 504 Coordinator on issues relating to the needs of teachers/staff in regard to amplification or assistive technology.
  11. Determine needs, order, set-up/install and troubleshoot amplification equipment/assistive technology for teachers/staff on 504.
  12. Participate in 504 meetings for students with amplification equipment as requested (D/HH, students with auditory processing, SLP, etc.).
  13. Other duties as assigned.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

Required:
  1. Bachelor's degree in related field.
  2. Proven experience working with set up, troubleshooting and minor repair of hearing aids, ear molds, and other amplification devices.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  5. Experience working with various computer systems, including email.
  6. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
  7. Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
  8. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.

Desired:
  1. Fluency in ASL/Manually Coded English
