WHAT TO EXPECT

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Elizabethtown, KY office, you will be responsible for the design, development, and performance testing of power transmission belting used in industrial and mobility applications. The right candidate will become a member of an experienced team, executing projects globally to drive expansion of the power transmission business.

Key responsibilities (to name a few):

  • Direct work responsibilities will include:
    1. Product BOM management
    2. Creation of lab orders for product testing
    3. Analyzing product test results
    4. Organizing and monitoring builds of test materials
    5. Benchmarking of products in industry
    6. Experimentation to enhance product design
    7. Forensic analysis
  • Interaction with a cross functional global teams (including operations, quality, material development, process engineering, commercial, etc.)
  • Apply core engineering and six sigma skills such as problem solving, SPC data collection and analysis, FMEA, DOE, etc.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum of 5 years R&D experience or 1-3 years R&D experience specific to Gates product lines preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, chemical or materials science preferred.
  • High level interpersonal and leadership skills; must be able to influence and collaborate across multiple levels within the company, and with suppliers.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problems solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highest values on safety in personal work practices and consideration in design of processes and equipment.
  • Experience with DFSS (Design for Six Sigma), Design of Experiments, FMEA, SPC, and Weibull is beneficial.
  • Experience with CAD is also beneficial.
  • Up to 15% travel allotment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Full-Time
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (10 scheduled & 1 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
  • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
  • Tuition Reimbursement
