The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dynamic Sales Representative professional.

The Sales Representative will work closely within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company business strategy. This role will be field-based and require daily face-to-face sales efforts in supporting the Mass. market.

What we're looking for

Education: College degree or equivalent/applicable experience

Experience: 1-3 years of experience working in a relevant customer facing or sales environment

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office experience required, with preference for technology platform experience such as Salesforce and/or Qlikview

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Science or Medical Technology background
  • Preferred sales experience within the Pharmaceutical, BioPharma, Industrial industries
  • Distribution experience
  • Prior or current work in a laboratory or research environment
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations

How you will thrive and create an impact

The Sales Representative is accountable for all sales activities, from lead generation through close, in an assigned territory, using a formal selling approach. This role develops and implements an agreed upon Operating Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer sales in the assigned geography.

  • Provide Aavntor solutions to customers across the Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Industrial (PBI) market segments

  • Manage a territory consisting of many customers across various markets

  • Build and nurture strong client relationships, fostering trust and long-term business connections

  • Engage with clients through various communication channels (phone, Teams, email) to provide effective and persuasive solutions

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop tailored solutions that address client needs

  • Meet or exceed sales and margin targets (IOP)

  • Analyze client profiles to identify trends, sales opportunities, and tailor acquisition strategies accordingly, including public tender processes

  • Provide consultative sales, identifying client needs, detailing products, and recommending solutions

  • Work closely with the sales administration team to create proposals and implement sales strategies

  • Represent Avantor with professionalism, ensuring a positive image with clients and manufacturers

  • Expand Avantor's role with existing customers by developing retention strategies illustrating Avantor's value proposition in conjunction with evolving customer requirements

  • Work directly with local manufacturer representatives to develop and continually improve product knowledge, arrive at most favored pricing, and improve account profitability
