Closing Date: January 1st, 2025 Hourly Bailiff - Sheriff Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Hourly Hourly Range: $33.78 - $43.31 Candidates must upload a current resume when applying for this position. This resume will be utilized to review relevant work experience and qualifications. Job Summary: Under general supervision, to perform a variety of duties and tasks related to the protection of life, limb and property, including law enforcement and crime prevention work; inherent in this work is the investigation of crime and forceful apprehension of criminal suspects. This hourly position will typically be scheduled to work 40 hours in a pay period (two-week timeframe). This is a non-represented, classified position. Job Duties:
Equipment, Tools, and Materials: During the completion of job duties, the following are equipment, tools, and materials utilized: motor vehicle, police radio, First Aid, AED equipment, personal computers, weapons & Specialized Law enforcement equipment. Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Skill in reading and comprehending written material; oral and written communication skills; ability to gain the respect and control the behavior of offenders; ability to take prompt and decisive action in emergency situations; ability to restrain combative subjects; ability to maintain a positive attitude and emotional control; ability work with computers; ability to follow work procedures and rules; ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others. Ability to lift and carry up to 100 and push and pull up to 200 pounds. Hearing criteria: Required hearing should be at 25 dB or less in each ear at the following frequencies: 500, 1000, 2000, and 3000 Hertz with or without hearing aids. Hearing aids test should consist of one ear at a time with the other ear masked. Vision criteria: corrected distant vision no less than 20/40 in each eye, uncorrected distant vision 20/100 or better in both eyes. For near vision no less than 20/40 in better eye.
