Our 115,000 square-foot manufacturing facility is conveniently located on Route 1 in Sharon, Massachusetts.

Job Summary

Develop and manage strong relationships with suppliers to positively impact the organization's financial performance and operational efficiency. Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate complex and high-dollar proposals/quotes, and contracts. Evaluate key and strategic suppliers' performance to ensure quality and delivery requirements.

Job Functions



  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigate, and develop sources of supplies, prepare RFQ specifications, issue RFQ requests and review quotations/contracts.
  • Interpret purchasing procedures to departments and suppliers, as a specialist in assigned categories (Material and Services), which may require a degree of technical knowledge.
  • Monitor business service providers, ensure services meet all uniform compliance standards for safety, quality, and cost measures.
  • Work with other departments to identify requesting department's needs to develop and refine specifications for materials, supplies, services and/or equipment.
  • Identify and select suppliers to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality, and delivery date
  • Review and analyze quotations and negotiate pricing as well as other terms and conditions within scope of authority and ensure compliance with requisition requirements.
  • Inform requisition initiator of any problems and concerns regarding compliance with requirements. Suggest changes to resolve differences while maintaining integrity of requirements.
  • Initiate purchase order and implement and control specified terms. When applicable, receive purchase order approval before processing.
  • Form strategic alliances with key suppliers to better understand their supply chain qualifications.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and .
  • Maintain, monitor and enhance internal kanban systems to continuously meet production requirements.
  • Provide support to operational divisions through spend analytics and process improvement for their indirect procurement needs.
  • Conduct supplier evaluation and recommend approved suppliers. Initiate and participate in programs to develop additional small, minority, and disadvantaged sources of supply.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with requisitioning departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
  • Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope aspects of assigned contracts to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Work effectively to achieve established Department Cost Savings Goals and Objectives.
  • Identify areas of indirect spend that are not under contract or lacking proper corporate oversight and where possible, consolidate this spend within existing supply base under contract or supplier agreements,
  • Provide technical or analytical support to other departments such as Finance and Accounts Payable


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Strong competence and confidence in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLookup, formulas, graphs, charts)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.
  • Work effectively with others and actively participate in continuous business improvement activities.



What Education and Qualifications are needed for the job?



  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing planning role
