About this Position:

The Weld Quality Engineer is responsible for identifying quality issues, establishing containment, developing, and implementing countermeasures to ensure acceptable quality for Honda products and parts. Performs activity related to the development, implementation, operation, and documentation pertaining to maintaining quality for automotive white bodies.

Responsibilities include:



  • Lead and manage complex problem solving analysis, investigations, report writing, and containment/repair activity utilizing quality engineering principles (Complex Analysis)
  • Perform technical in-depth analysis related to mass production processes to minimize customer concerns (Line Call Support)
  • Identify reoccurring problems and conduct design problem analysis to solve the issues (24 Point, Comp, WB Accuracy Reporting)
  • Review new model drawings/parts and identify actual and potential problems, clarify and review with applicable departments, implement countermeasures to avoid problem occurrence at mass production (New Model Equipment Counter Measure Activity)
  • Analyze proposed countermeasures, judge their effectiveness once implemented, and manage change point control (MQS Review and Reporting)
  • Develop scorecard materials on monthly basis related to quality standards
  • Lead design activity with related departments groups, suppliers, and R&D to confirm design verses actual manufacturing condition and whether that design is acceptable based on past problem history. (New Model Equipment Design Development)
  • Provide technical support throughout tool trials and crisis activity, as needed (Crisis MP Support)



Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:



  • 0-6 years of experience dependent upon education


Required Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Technical Design) or 6 years engineering experience in lieu of a degree


Desired skills:



  • Strong interpersonal skills, high-impact communication skills, project management skills
  • Proficient Catia & Enovia skills - capable of producing and operating 2D/3D models
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and proficient in problem analysis
  • Basic Computer Skills with Microsoft Office Products


Additional Position Factors:



  • OT necessary at times to complete tasks and coverage
  • Travel may be necessary for training & meeting with other Weld facilities
