Join our VFC's Centralized Referral Team and make a difference in the communities that we serve. Our Centralized Referral Team processes referrals to specialty care, diagnostics, DME and other services. Under the guidance and direction of the Referral Supervisor, the Referral Coordinator will:



  • Request authorizations for required referrals
  • Act as a liaison for patients and clinicians related to specialty care referrals
  • Facilitate communication with referring clinicians
  • Refer patients to appropriate resources
  • Provide follow-up through phone, our patient portal, and established communication systems
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Salary Range:$29.42 - $42.14 Hourly

Qualifications
Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a health care setting
  • Familiarity and knowledge of standard office equipment, electronic health records, and software products to perform administrative work.
  • Ability to establish and maintain and productive working relationships with clinicians, staff and patients from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Attention to detail; ability to prioritize and multi-task assignments with competing demands.
  • Excellent organizational skills to complete work in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ability to schedule patient appointment using computerized scheduling system.

Preferred:

  • Experience processing referrals strongly preferred
  • Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process & managed care programs
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
