Job Summary:
The Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) program within the Office of Student Transition and Family Engagement (OSTFE) includes in-person and virtual components that engage every new undergraduate, facilitating their introduction to campus life, academic advising, and course enrollment. The Operations Specialist position will develop program content; manage logistics and data; supervise student leaders; and assess program effectiveness in collaboration with the rest of the OSTFE team and critical campus partners. Responsibilities: Provides subject matter expertise in the development and execution of programs within the scope of student learning and development. Organizes the facilitation and development of curriculum design for on-going and new educational initiatives. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

Our mission is to understand and improve a student's first year at UW-Madison. We are the campus leader and primary resource on the subject of student transition to UW-Madison. OSTFE supports students in self-reflection and active learning inside and outside of the classroom as they create the foundation for their Wisconsin Experience. We facilitate this process through a long-term inclusive strategy of intentional programming, on-going services, communication, and collaboration with faculty and staff.
