Java Technical Lead (Hybrid)

Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified technical lead with experience in Java, AWS, SQL, Node. JS, and AngularJS, developing and building hard-working, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications. You will work side by side with product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users. Location: Richmond, VA, USA. (Hybrid, 3 days at office)

Responsibilities:
  • Candidate needs to mentor and guide team members. Should be able to conduct code reviews and ensure quality standards.
  • Always stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends and resolve technical roadblocks.
  • Plan, prioritize tasks with Product owner, and allocate tasks optimally to team members, track project progress and adjust timelines as needed.
  • Lead risks and dependencies. Keep collaborators and the Delivery Lead advised about project progress.
  • Should cultivate a positive and collaborative team culture. Resolve conflicts and address team concerns.
  • Have strong communication skills to engage with collaborators or customers to understand their needs.
  • Communicate project updates and timelines optimally to Delivery Lead of the project
  • Should be able to find opportunities for process improvement.
  • Candidate needs to implement new tools and technologies to enhance efficiency through POC (proof of concept).
  • Encourage innovation and creativity within the team.
Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience (8+ Years).
  • Proficiency in Java8 and Java17, AWS, Any NoSQL DB (preferably Dynamo DB), Spring boot 3, Any SQL DB, and familiarity with Kafka (desirable) are vital. Equivalent experience will be taken into account for educational requirements.
  • Show exceptional ability to take on and address sophisticated technical issues, showcasing strong problem-solving skills.
  • Display strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work optimally in a hybrid work model.
Salary and compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $102K - $162,500K depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
