Global Training Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, develop and deliver technical trainings in person or remotely to participants across the globe. Each day, you will make sure to prepare highly qualified ABB and Channel Partner service personnel worldwide who are confident in their product knowledge, and ability to commission, service, and maintain Power Protection systems professionally and safely. You will also showcase your expertise by guaranteeing excellent customer service and securing high level of customer satisfaction through trainings.
The work model for the role is: Hybrid
This role is contributing to the Power Protection product group in the Electrification Smart Power division and will be based in Richmond, VA. The main stakeholders that support the development and delivery of training are Service, Sales, Product Management, Project Management, and Engineering.
You will be mainly accountable for:
*Preparing and delivering training courses in classroom, online, or on-site and following up on pre and post training activities (e.g., training needs and feedback collection, and preparing course material, tools and equipment).
*Designing and developing lesson plans and course material for classroom, on-site and online training in own area of responsibility and advising on updates needed in e-learning material. Creating and updating course descriptions and training programs. Considering feedback given on courses and implementing corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.
*Supporting Training Coordinators in making course arrangements and answering course enquiries and proposals for training courses.
*Supporting Field Service and other teams/units organization when necessary by using own expertise.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, related field or military experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated experience in service operations, training, engineering, testing or power quality with electrical/electronic accomplishments.
  • 3+ years' experience in the power protection field, with roles in Training, Service, R&D, and/or Sales. Hands-on experience with power protection equipment is desirable.
  • Further education in adult teaching is preferred.
  • Possess the ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • You enjoy working with methodologies for facilitating adult learning and communication. You possess a self-motivated mindset, are innovative in communication skills, and are passionate about interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
