We're actively seeking a talented Director of Development Excellence Engineering to join our Enterprise Engineering(EE) team in [Newport Beach, CA; Aliso Viejo, CA; Omaha NE or Lynchburg, VA].
* This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office. Responsiblities: Software Development Process Standardization, Design, Implementation, and Maintenance:
- Develop and standardize development processes to ensure consistency and efficiency and in line with DevSecOps principles.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable CI/CD pipelines.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to align with industry best practices of modern software engineering practices.
DevSecOps Tech Stack Ownership:
- Oversee the selection, integration, and management of DevSecOps tools and technologies.
- Ensure the tech stack supports the needs of the development and security teams and evolves with the technology advancement as appropriate
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in DevSecOps technologies
Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) Owner:
- Lead the development and maintenance of internal developer platforms to enhance productivity.
- Ensure Development tools and platforms are reliable and meet the needs and user experience of the engineering teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional development and engineering teams to gather requirements and implement solutions to support an efficient development process for the enterprise.
Setting and Maintaining Internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Across Engineering Function:
- Define and enforce SLAs to ensure high availability and performance of IDP engineering services.
- Monitor and report on SLA compliance, addressing any issues promptly.
- Work with engineering teams to set realistic and achievable performance targets.
Engineering Processes Performance Metrics Management:
- Develop and manage performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of engineering processes
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on process performance.
- Recommends process improvements and drive adoptions securely, efficiently and effectively.
Modern Security Tooling for Development:
- Implement and manage modern security tools for application development supply chain and services such as Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), and Software Composition Analysis (SCA).
- Ensure continuous security checks are implemented and automated wherever is appropriate and required
- Promote the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security tools to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities in infrastructure configurations.
The experience you bring:
- 15+ years of experience in software development and engineering management
- Hands on experience in improving engineering productivity through continuous improvements, measuring what matters and driving automation in the SDLC process end to end
- Strong knowledge of DevSecOps tools and technologies and software delivery cycle implementation
- Experience implementing Developer experience platform such as Backstage, Cortex.io
- Proven experience in implementing and drive adoption of DevSecOps principles and processes in a medium or large-scale engineering organization
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong experience in implementing work management platform such as Jira, Clickup, Azure Devops Services.
- Ability to communicate effectively vertically and horizontally within the organization about technical strategy in clear, concise, understandable terms appropriate to the audience technical understanding and expertise
What makes you stand out:
- Strong knowledge in secure coding and application security, such as threat modeling, security testing, authentication/authorization, security logging/monitoring and incident response.
- Strong experience with API first design, build and API management and governance
- Extensive experience with KPI, data analysis and visualizations
- Proven experience with containerization technologies
- Ability to influence others inside and outside of direct team
- Ability to manage complexity while driving clarity
- Strong sense of urgency and able to work well under pressure and deadlines

$175,860.00 - $214,940.00
