The Total Rewards Intern will attend regular meetings to discuss the role of compensation and impact to organization/employees, inclusive of areas: base, variable, sales, long-term, other compensation. Attend regular Benefits meetings to discuss the role of benefits and impact to organization/employees, inclusive of areas: health and welfare, retirement, well-being, ancillary, and other benefits. Attend meetings to discuss the total rewards function overall inclusive of strategy and impact to organization/employees providing career coaching, and overall experience of internship.

The stuff you will do:

  • The Total Rewards Intern will work within the Total Rewards team, to support Benefits, Compensation, and People Operations (HR).
  • Research best practices and recommendations for enhanced benefit offerings
  • Research and build campaigns to highlight benefit offerings and increase employee engagement
  • Assist with coordination, content collection and maintenance of the Benefits Hub on Mertiage.Net, the company intranet.
  • Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) on benefit processes (funding, Life Event approvals in system, billing, etc.)
  • Review of content in Benefits Hub and Employee Handbook for accuracy
  • Assist in facilitating Health Fair and project plan for spend of wellness budget
  • Create and Tuition and Leave spreadsheets; creating new documents to use as master files.
  • Streamline TR communication campaigns, audits, and reporting.
  • Creating compliance calendar for Benefits and including renewal.
  • Support with job leveling work, inclusive of job description inventory and creation.
  • May look to support development of compensation reporting.
  • Support the administrative efforts for various projects
  • Support the department in the preparation and analytics of different compensation efforts and total rewards reports
  • Learn our core values and why they drive everything we do
  • Translate classroom experience into practical application during the internship
  • Participate in cross-functional projects involving other interns and business leaders centered around current business challenges
  • Present real-world business recommendations to senior leadership that can help drive our strategy
  • Write a paper focusing on the experience or another assigned topic
