Senior Civil Engineer (Highways)

What You'll Do:

• Lead the design and analysis of bridge and highway projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.

• Oversee the production of comprehensive contract documents, including plans, specifications, cost estimates, and more.

• Facilitate multi-disciplinary reviews to resolve potential design conflicts.

• Coordinate with local agencies for regulatory approvals and actively engage with the public through outreach events.

• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and team members to keep projects on track, on time, and within budget.

• Implement established Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures in coordination with TYLin and agency standards.

• Support Alternative Delivery projects on an as-needed basis.

• Participate in business development efforts with other leaders in the various transportation sectors of TYLin, focusing primarily on R+H and Bridges.

• Play a key role in the "Go/No-Go" decision making process for pursuits.

• Foster strong relationships with clients, subconsultants, and governing agencies.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).

• Illinois Professional Engineer's license required. Michigan and Missouri preferred (or the ability to acquire)

• 15+ years in highway design and other transportation-related projects.

• Proficiency in MicroStation SS4/SS10 w/ Geopak, Inroads, OpenRoads Designer.

• Conversant in other civil design software such as traffic modeling software, Civil3D, etc.

• Requires a thorough knowledge of Illinois DOT, CDOT, and Illinois Tollways policies and procedures.

• Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

• Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients' toughest challenges.

• High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
