OVERVIEW

The Store Room Attendant is responsible for the verification and data entry of inventory control transactions. These transactions include material receipts, issues, adjustments, and other data input functions as required. Work with data details on parts, supplies, and all other duties as assigned.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Physical receiving, inspection and put away of goods from vendors. Directs delivery to other receiving points and either unloads himself/herself or arranges for unloading by others when necessary.
  • Physical removal, inspection and issue of goods to warehouse customers.
  • System entry of goods receipts from purchase orders as required by MRP Controller.
  • System entry of goods issues to work orders or cost centers as required by MRP Controller.
  • System stock transfers between storage locations and plants as required by MRP Controller.
  • Physical inventories including cycle counting as directed by the MRP Controller.
  • Processing returns for purchase orders.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely data entry.
  • Responsible for upkeep and general housekeeping of all warehouse storage locations, including, cleaning, labelling and physical re-organization as needed.
  • Be honest and trustworthy.
  • Perform duties in a workmanlike manner.



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS



  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent



ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)



  • Practical warehouse management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Good penmanship and knowledge of arithmetic.
  • Ability to deal with people and get along well with them.
  • Have mechanical aptitude. Be familiar with nomenclature and specifications of nuts, bolts, pipe fittings and a wide variety of general and special parts.
  • Moderate physical effort required, must be able to stand, bend, walk, lift and carry.
  • Usually the work is performed indoors under comfortable conditions. Occasionally exposed to seasonal weather conditions outside.
