The Opportunity:

Under close supervision, responsible for completing product quality checks. Conducts routine testing and analysis of production work. Quality checks are typically reviewed for accuracy. Documents quality control issues as needed.

Avantor is looking for an eager and dedicated Quality Control Lab Analyst to optimize our Quality Control Laboratory, delivering results against some of the most complex business and technology initiatives.

This role will be a full-time position based out of our Solon Fountain, OH facility. You will have the opportunity to be responsible for analysis of raw materials, finished products, and processing of bulk products. The team

Avantor's Quality Control Lab team is part of our VWR Chemicals unit. This team supports the innovation and growth objectives of major businesses across the globe by helping with the integration of new technology solutions into their processes and operations.

What we're looking for

  • Education: 4 year degree in science or related field
  • Experience: Lab experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6-12 months in lab experience outside of educational courses a plus

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Conducts routine and non-routine chemistry and microbiological analysis of raw materials, in-process formulations and final products to specifications.
  • Utilized and operates laboratory equipment and instruments according to laboratory work instruction or laboratory procedures such as pH, conductivity, UV, KF, FTIR, density, and auto -titrators.
  • Ability to understand and follow Quality Control test methods or compendia methods (USP, EP/BP or ACS)
  • Performs calculations on data generated for reports results.
  • Performs technical review of lab data on routing monitoring of water systems, environmental monitoring and direct measure analysis.
  • Calibrates and maintains lab instruments & equipment.
  • Enters final results and raw data for samples or products in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
  • May perform investigative analysis to support investigations, complaints or instrument troubleshooting.
  • Performs Environmental Monitoring duties, which requires gowning into cleanroom and collection of air and surface samples while in the cleanrooms
  • Reviews for discrepancies in data, manufacture COA, COC, and performs data verification in accordance with company procedures.
  • Applies appropriate disposition to materials (accepted, rejected, etc).
  • Handles hazardous materials using all appropriate or mandatory safety PPE and safety equipment.
