Responsibilities:
- Serve as first interface between engineering and production when shipments are affected by documentation errors, non-specification compliant performance, assembly / test issues, excessive labor requirements and material cost / component supplier problems.
- Coordinate repair of product returns including verifying the documentation package, customer failure report and proposed corrective action. When the fault cannot be verified, facilitate a discussion with TM engineering and the customer to reach a mutually agreeable solution.
- Implement and sustain a program of continuous process improvement within the Operations department using appropriate methods to reduce assembly cost, support costs, material costs and cost of quality.
- Develop assembly and test processes and sequence of operations for company products using advanced lean manufacturing techniques. Through the appropriate metrics, monitor the effectiveness of these processes. Facilitate Kaizen events with team members to reduce waste and time during the assembly and test process.
- Develop estimates of manufacturing costs in support of Tampa Microwave proposals. Perform time studies as required to verify production cost estimates and find areas for labor efficiency improvements. Utilize the MAS 90 ERP system to retrieve financial information that provides production actual costs and cost trends.
- Ensure TM's organization fully supports aggressive programs for overall plant safety. Maintain training programs to keep all employees fully aware of safety in use and handling of hazardous substances, tools and test equipment
- Maintain close liaison with engineering during development programs to insure all new TM products have "producibility" designed into them before they are turned over to manufacturing.
- Develop assembly instructions and/or provide input to engineering to include in assembly drawings to facilitate mistake proof shop order execution.
- Design and fabricate assembly fixtures and tools designed to assist in efficient assembly and test operations. Monitor assembly personnel to uncover and correct instances of repetitive stress that may lead to lost time injuries

- confusion, fear and uncertainty within production cells and facilitate resolution of these issues

- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance upon hire if required
- Some travel required. Must be able to lift objects of up to 25 lbs.
- Two year or four years technical or industrial engineering degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of two years of progressive experience in an electronic / mechanical product manufacturing company.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma process control principles and experience implementing them in a business is preferred. Experience in new product development and transition to production is also preferred.
- Fluent in the English language- written and oral
