Duration: 6 Months Contract Hours/Week: 15 Note: Part-time position Hours/Week 15. Candidates are required to have foster parents/adoptive parents experience. Remote assignment (candidates should be within a 1 hour radius of to address listed below). Job Description: Individual will act as foster parent recruitment champions, providing recruitment a retention support. Additionally, peer mentors will be matched with newly licensed foster families to provide emotional support and system navigation. Peer mentors will also help with connecting the family to any needed services, supports and resources available in the community. Strong skills in communication and content knowledge of the child welfare system/foster care are required. Lived experience as a foster/adoptive parent is required. A successful Peer Mentor should have: Successfully navigated the foster parenting experience. Demonstrated the ability to maintain stable placements. Demonstrated the ability to advocate effectively for their children and families. Experience providing informal support to other families. Understand and support the goal of reunification where possible.
