The Carle Eureka Operating Room (CEH OR) is committed to our Nursing Professional Practice Model; we believe in caring relationships with our patients, families, community and colleagues to provide exceptional care. In the CEH OR, our dedicated nursing staff, nurse leaders, interdisciplinary team members and physician partners practice within our two state of the art operating rooms.

Our highly trained staff are able to provide specialize surgical and nursing care while utilizing the most current technology and equipment. Surgical procedures performed in the CEH OR include but are not limited to general surgical, urologic, podiatric, orthopedic, plastics and pain.

The CEH OR environment is exciting, and always evolving.This position provides clerical support to maintain cohesiveness of day-to-day office functions and operations. Conveys a positive image of the Carle organization, staff, and physicians.

Responsibilities

Performs secretarial and office management functions for department to maintain a cohesiveness in day-to-day office functions and operations.
Generates administrative reports, correspondence, etc. as needed. Edits material representing the division as well as documents requiring the synthesis or integration of a variety of subject areas/people.
Maintains calendars as requested, schedules meetings, arranges appointments, assists in travel reservations, brings pertinent dates to supervisor's attention, provides necessary documents for use in scheduled meetings, and attends meetings as requested to take minutes.
Makes arrangements for meetings and conferences following general instructions, such as ensuring appropriate technology is set up.
Disseminates information to appropriate individuals inside as well as outside division to assure facts are communicated properly.
Maintains communication and regularly interacts with employees, members, and individuals on perioperative leadership team. Handles and properly screens phone calls and takes responsibility for helping the caller. Communicates on a daily basis with leaders referring them to the appropriate individual/department regarding their concerns/inquiries.
Updates and maintains department phone trees and RAVE alert system for division
Obtains knowledge of the functions of each perioperative department. Serves as a contact/resource for resolving inquiries/problems for department leaders within scope of responsibility.
Conducts research, such as gathering and providing information through identifying appropriate sources as well as evaluating sources or the application of regulations and procedures to specific cases.
Identifies and recommends areas for improvement with relevant processes and operating procedures. Learns and utilizes new software applications as appropriate.
Completes facility, IT, BIOMED, Telecom work orders as instructed.
Tracks anesthesiologist on-call pay tracking and routes to accounting department.
Performs and creates department audits as assigned.
Provides support for tracking DNV action plans.
Provides back up support for the OR Schedulers and Billers.
Creates agendas and takes minutes for Perioperative Exectutive Committee, Robotics Exectutive Committee, Anesthesia Physician monthly meeting and operating room monthly meeting. Creates PowerPoint, Excel and Work documents to support Perioperative business plans, capital and facility projects. Requests and organizes Perioperative data and reports.
