Position description

Junior/Assistant/Associate/Full Specialist in the Coyote-Maestas Lab

Department of Bioengineering & Therapeutic Sciences

University of California, San Francisco

The Coyote-Maestas Lab in the UCSF Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences have a Junior/Assistant Specialist position available immediately. Salary will be commensurate with level of experience. The department is focused on developing new areas of therapeutic engineering, pharmacogenomics, computational biology, systems pharmacology, drug development and regulatory sciences.

The Coyote-Maestas lab studies membrane protein biology across scales including the biophysics of folding, the cell biology of trafficking, the structural biology of function, and the physiology of sensory perception. The lab's long-term goal is to integrate these scales to develop holistic models of how membrane proteins underlie our physiology and break in disease.

Primarily, the Coyote-Maestas lab uses high throughput screens connected with mechanistic phenotypic readouts to develop comprehensive models for how mutations alter membrane proteins. The lab collaborates widely to achieve it's goals with biologists, physicists, chemists, and computational biology. We seek highly motivated and talented candidates interested in high throughput sequencing-based approaches to studying receptor biophysics and biochemistry.

The successful candidate will participate in multiple research projects dependent on skills and interests, including some independent and others supporting current lab members.

This full-time position will include:
