Job Description Summary:

Draper, an engineering research and development institution, is seeking an Director 1 in Cambridge, MA to lead the Production and Supply Chain activities for the Strategic Guidance Development Business Area. This includes management of ongoing production efforts as well as the strategic planning, industry partnership development and execution of future programs. The individual will be responsible for cost, schedule, and performance of from component procurement to system level assembly for exquisite high-mix low volume products. The Individual will be required to coordinate activities in the Production area with the rest of the Navy Strategic Systems directorate. Specific responsibilities for the Production and Supply Chain Director 1 include:

Operations Management: Will develop and manage all production contracts including those of the various subcontractors. Individual will be responsible for all aspects of the production operation from the establishment of requirements for components through the selloff of completed guidance sets. In this role the individual be responsible for the resolution of all supply chain issues while ensuring continued compliance to stringent quality standards. Other responsibilities include monitoring business plans for critical suppliers and creating action plans to ensure the availability of those components and/or capabilities. Individual will be expected to be able to lead programs, projects and Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement Teams for all Key Performance Indicators including cycle time, cost reductions, productivity improvements, capacity increases, defect reduction, quality and yield.
Program Management: Manage talented, multidisciplinary, production and engineering teams to meet program schedule, cost, and technical objectives. Also, acts at the principal customer and subcontractor interface for the programs and proposals managed.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities:
* Supervises a team of program managers in the execution of the assigned portfolio to include mentorship and career development.
* Oversees the development of complex proposals of large scope and oversees the execution of all assigned programs.
* Develops a portfolio strategy to include development of the opportunity identification, competitive analysis, alignment of Draper's capabilities, and engagement plans.
* Contributes to Draper Intellectual Property position or discriminating technology portfolio that transcends project contributions in one or more areas of technical discipline.
* Implements program management policies to ensure effective proposal development and project execution.
* Manages to budget and schedule while developing and implement work plans for portfolio execution.
* Reports results and issues to senior management and cross functional organizations.
* Efforts contribute to the success of a major business area.

* Demonstrates deep knowledge in one or more technical disciplines related to Draper's critical capabilities.

* Demonstrates highly developed communication skills, both in written and oral forms; clearly communicates with sponsors, management and peers.

Education:
Master's degree or above in a relevant technical field of study, or MBA. Technical knowledge and skills gained through professional work experience.

Experience:
10+ years functional or program management experience. including 5 years experience in personnel management.

Additional Job Description:
