POSITION SUMMARY This position's primary function is to ensure that New, Relocated and Remodeled Stores are fully merchandised, and all systems are operational for the Grand Opening (or Grand Re-Opening) by the deadline. This position will be responsible for ensuring merchandise is effectively presented in accordance to Planograms. You will report to the Director/Manager of Store Openings/Remodels while on GO Projects/Remodels and will be accountable to theirhomeStore Manager when not traveling. This is a non-exempt position and eligible for overtime based upon State / Federal regulations. WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO AS A GRAND OPENING AND SPECIAL OPERATIONS TEAM MEMBER: Ensure that a New Store or Re-located Store is set to company standards, GOLD STANDARD, by the GO deadline.Lead by example and being a model of the company Core Values and Principles with a clear understanding that new hires will be observing the individual as a representative of Guitar Center's desired behaviors.Train GO new hires to understand and execute Planograms and Visual promotions.Educating new hires on how to provide excellent Customer Service to all GC Customers and how to build a cohesive team based upon respect for all Associates and cooperation to achieve common goals.Delegate specific tasks to new hires while training them execute the tasks properly.Work as needed (while on the GO/Remodel projects) to achieve desired results with a whatever-it-takes positive attitude and sense of urgency.Be able to follow specific oral / written directions and obtain the desired results.Work as a team-player by assisting team members to move merchandise weighing in excess of 60 lbs, climbing ladders to place merchandise in designated areas, and cleaning floors, racks, restrooms, and merchandise.Demonstrate knowledge of instruments to new hires that have questions about merchandise.Handle difficult situations and work demands while being a model of GC Core Values by resolving customer concerns and co-worker conflicts to a positive outcome.Work with operations personnel to ensure that safety and security measures are instilled in the new hires to protect GC property and the new hires themselves.Other duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: Expert in planograms in at least one department (multiple departments preferred).Desired 2-5 years of experience in GC field retail management with Merchandising expertiseProficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other typical computer applicationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail with strong organizational and follow-up skillsPositive attitudeExcellent written and verbal skillsAbility to multi-task and resolve competing prioritiesKnowledge of musical instrumentsDetail-oriented with good follow up skills.Learn and retain job related information.Strong working knowledge Green Screen.Working knowledge of computers at a beginner or intermediate level.Calculate and process figures such as discounts, taxes, and percentages while accurately managing cash, credit, or check transactions.Ability to communicate effectively and lead teams to meet the deadline.Ability to travel up to 60% for extended periods of time.Must be available to work long hours, evenings, over-nights, weekends, and holidays with regular air travel.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time on non-resilient floors (such as concrete).Able to bend, squat, stretch, climb (ladders), and lift or place merchandise on shelves.Able to lift up to 60 lbs by one's self, with the help from another, or by using available equipment. |
