We invite applications to join our college in a full- time, tenure-track position as Assistant/Associate Professor in Special Education within the Department of Educational Leadership & Advanced Studies.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching online and on-campus undergraduate and graduate special education courses, supervising field experiences, collaborating with colleagues in field-based programs, engaging in scholarly activity, advising graduate students, and serving the university, the profession, and the community. This position is a nine-month appointment, with possible summer employment. Salary and benefits are competitive.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
* Earned doctorate in Special Education or related field ( ABD considered)
* At least three years of K-12 classroom teaching experience
* Broad-based experience teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and/or mild intellectual disabilities
* Experience with diverse populations, inclusive environments, and adapting for access of the general education curriculum
* Commitment to NKU's core values and strategic framework, especially in how they may contribute to student success and belonging
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with students with moderate and severe disabilities
* Experience integrating innovative online teaching practices
* Experience with Special Education assessment
