We are seeking a senior software development manager that can effectively direct the overall software architecture, software development processes, and delivery schedule for a family of high performing navigation systems and supporting infrastructure. The candidate will lead the Integrated Product Team (IPT) for Software. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively collaborate with other IPT leads, provide guidance and direction to software leads within the company and with sub-contractors, and work to coordinate the efforts of multiple teams. In addition, they will oversee and direct the development of supporting infrastructure such as simulation software, static/dynamic analysis tools, vulnerability analysis tools, continuous integration and integration testing, and/or coordinating in the implementation of sensor fusion algorithms. Job Role(s): Lead the software development and production strategies across the in-house teams and with multiple sub-contractor teams, for a family of high-performance navigation systems being developed for a variety of Department of Defense (DoD) projects. Effectively communicate with customers; communicate the vision and objectives being accomplished with the software development processes and explain current status of software development Understand and direct the implementation of supporting infrastructure, such as simulation software, static/dynamic analysis tools, vulnerability analysis tools, continuous integration, and integration testing Supervise multiple teams of SW developers performing the design, development, and testing of software for embedded or high performance navigation systems Ensure SW development processes are able to produce airworthy avionics products. Ensure that teams are developing and maintaining quality software documentation, including specifications, test plans, and user manuals. Participate in design reviews, provide input on system architecture decisions, and communicate effectively with the customer and management. Required Experience: 10+ years development experience in modern C++ and C, 7+ years leading software development teams required Experience in leading formal DoD software production, testing, and maintenance/support required. Experience with DoD cyber hardening and software assurance requirements highly preferred. Experience effectively leading software teams in both Waterfall and Agile development approaches highly preferred. Experience with RTCA DO-178c software certification processes preferred. Experience with GNSS receivers and other navigation systems/sensors preferred. Preferred Qualifications Masters in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering preferred. Advanced degrees will offset minimum years of relevant experience.
