Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Loan Servicing Specialist to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role will be working on-site at our Walnut Creek office.

Performs a wide variety of operational tasks related to loan administration and/or processing, from minor to complex processes or functions. Takes accountability for entire process from receipt of work to resolution and closure. Tasks require coordination of information among various operational areas and customers. Utilizes multiple system applications. May work in multiple areas of department.

What you will be doing:

  • Receiving and reviewing incoming work, contacting appropriate resources as needed, entering transactions, verifying accuracy, preparing, editing, distributing, and/or correcting specialized and/or complex documents.

  • Responsible for the accurate completion of assigned data entry to various bank systems for the completion of the job function. Provides excellent customer service to internal and external clients.

  • Identifies and resolves issues within assigned scope. Attends and participates in meetings as required. Organizes and completes work accurately in accordance with established measures/deadlines and assigned goals. Performs all other job duties as assigned.

  • Thorough knowledge of job skills, company policies, procedures and bank regulations to complete a wide range of transactions. Has ability to process.

  • Researches non-routine inquires.

  • Typically works on routine tasks, but is able to work on more complex assignments/transactions with little direction. Exercises good judgment. Has a limited role in decision-making.

Who you are:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years work experience in loan operations of a financial institution. Knowledgeable in bank operations and regulations. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software programs required.

  • Proficient with: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Outlook, Internet, FISERV (or similar system)

  • Ability to adapt to and use third party programs, as necessary

  • Possess excellent human relations, communications and business writing skills.

  • Ability to work effectively without direct supervision.

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret Bank policies and procedures.

  • Possess effective time management and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrates teamwork in facilitating workflow. High level of cooperation with others and is responsive to the Bank's needs.

  • Exemplary motivation, enthusiasm, professionalism and team skills.

  • Have high level of accuracy and great attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to cope with pressure resulting from meeting required deadlines, reporting requirements and training responsibilities.

  • Exhibit high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling and having access to sensitive customer or employee information.

  • Ability to handle constant use of tact, discretion and good judgment.

  • Ability to travel between bank locations and/or commute for training purposes - less than 25%

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.

Pay Range:$22.00-31.00 hourly

Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
