Job Summary/Overview
The Senior Quality Technician is responsible for maintaining quality assurance processes, testing of products, and recording and analyzing results gathered during product development and production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Program and inspect manufactured products using CMM software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve dimensional issues found during CMM inspection and ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Consistently and reliably own the quality process of assigned jobs. For 1st piece, in-process and final inspection, this may include collaborating with Manufacturing Engineers, Programmers and/or machinists to develop and optimize an inspection plan.
- Develop and maintain inspection reports.
- Maintain and document calibration of quality control equipment.
- Prepare and maintain test data for review.
- Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.
- Conduct data collection, data analysis, and trending.
- Ensure compliance to company standards and specifications.
- Works with Materials/Purchasing Department to assure acceptable supplier quality and delivery.
- Interact with team members to communicate inspection results.
- Provide instruction and training for inspection team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
- Gauge software knowledge
- Microsoft Office experience and proficiency
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints
- Ability to utilize the following gauges and measuring devices: micrometers, calipers, height gauge, hardness tester, optical comparator, spectrometer, CMM, and go/no go gauges
- Must possess a strong sense of urgency, teamwork, keen attention to detail, ability to plan, organize and multi-task.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role preferred.
- 2+ years of CMM programming and operation experience required
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
