Your role.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

Data and Project Management

  • Lead and manage data and reporting efforts sourced from the Workday system
  • Lead firm initiatives involving financial data administration, support, and enhancements for use in the source and downstream systems
  • Participate in the Data Governance Working group to strategize and inform the steering committee initiatives
  • Participate in and/or consult on technology project implementations where accounting data is requested
  • Manage projects across departments
  • Prioritize and take part in projects, system release testing related to reporting and ad hoc projects and requests as needed

Team Development

  • Manage and direct priorities of a team of financial data and reporting analysts who provide the reporting solutions, development, support, and administration of reporting systems
  • Lead the development of the assigned team member's career path, progression assessment and prompt feedback
  • Set and manage annual hours and performance goals for the team and its members
  • Develop a strong team by delivering productive feedback and opportunities for growth.
  • Manage team assignments to various projects and tasks to ensure proper resources are available for firm projects and enhancements

Support

  • Oversee the firm's reporting helpdesk in collaboration with other internal groups to successfully deliver support across different departments.
  • Oversee the Internal Accounting reporting support and project efforts.

* Collaborate with Financial Systems Manager to support data/system integrity. Help investigate or appropriately delegate instances of inconsistent data due to application set up or integrity

Technical skills

* Ability in various report development applications

* Data stewardship, management, transformation, and governance

* Proficiency with accounting software and data management tools

* Workday system administration and/or report development

* MS Office applications

* SQL

* MS Power Suite development and management (Forms/Lists/Automate/BI)

Accounting Skills

* Strong understanding of financial operations, operational accounting processes and how they relate to the general ledger and financial statements.

* Understands key performance measures and indicators that drive reporting and analytics

Analytical Abilities

* Understand internal processes and terminology

* Analyze and organize complex data sets.

* Identify variances and research questions about financial activity

* Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures

* Attention to details with a high level of accuracy

* Critical thinking and problem solving

* Critical and strategic thinking to assess and solution with little oversight

* Explain and interpret accounting/financial information to non-financial people

The qualifications.

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required

* 5+ years of accounting/financial reporting development and delivery

* Must have experience managing two or more staff

* Experience with Workday PSA and/or Workday reporting is preferred.

* Data transformation, conversion and ETL processes and tools.

*Project Management/Leadership

* Person in position frequently communicates with staff who have inquiries. Must be able to exchange information in these situations.

Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) Information

Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience and is provided in accordance with the CO Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO. Please review position location for applicable geographic location.

Colorado monthly base range is as follows:

$7,500.00 to $10,416.67
We are pleased to offer eligible staff a robust benefits package. Eligibility and contribution requirements for some of these benefits vary based on the number of hours staff work per week. Highlights include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. These standard offerings are effective on the first of the month following your start date. In addition to this, eligible staff are able to take advantage of our Flexible Time Off and various pre-determined holidays as well as a balance fund, 401(k) plan, flexible benefits plans, business-related travel expense, lodging and meal reimbursement for business-related use. A Pension plan is also available for eligible administrative and paraprofessional staff. A discretionary bonus plan is available for eligible staff. Plante Moran also offers Interns and Contractors the option to elect health insurance under our contingent staff medical plan as of the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment in addition to limited paid time sick time. Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits.
