Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at theBeckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research. A Staff Scientist opportunity is immediately available for the highly motivated individual in the laboratory of Dr. Ya-Huei Kuo, in the Department of Hematologic Malignancies Translational Science. The research goals in the Kuo laboratory are to discover mechanisms of leukemogenesis and leukemia stem cell persistence; to develop mechanism-based targeted therapeutics; and to deliver useful tools to monitor and predict disease progression or therapy response. The laboratory utilizes genetic mouse models and patient-derived xenografts of leukemia combined with cell culture, biochemistry, functional genomics, high-throughput sequencing and mathematical modeling approaches. For more information on Dr. Kuo's work please visit here. As a successful candidate, you will: * Work on identifying mechanisms contributing to leukemia pathogenesis, immune evasion and therapy resistance * Develop novel leukemia therapeutics * Participate in a multidisciplinary team work to study state-transition and leukemia potential dynamics to inform disease evolution and adaptive therapy. Qualifications Your qualifications should include: * A Ph.D. or M.D. * Experience working with mice, including blood sampling and transplantation * Experience in multi-parameter flow cytometry, biochemistry, and molecular/cell biology techniques * Experience in bioinformatics and metabolic studies * Effective communication skills and collaborative mindset City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.
