Paramedic Full-Time 24 hour shifts

Job Summary

* Performs emergency and stabilizing procedures using protocols as directed by the EMS Medical Director and independent judgment.

* Responds to emergency and routine requests for transportation to and from medical facilities

* Works well with other employees, health care providers, and public safety officials and maintains a patient or customer service focus.

* Provides didactic and clinical instruction to coworkers, healthcare providers or the public as needed.

* Demonstrates effective leadership and management of specialized situations.

* Provides documentation and records as appropriate.

* Maintains equipment, supplies and facilities.

* Performs related tasks as required.

Qualifications

FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Modules 100, 200, and 700 preferred but must be completed prior to the end of departmental orientation. HazMat Operations regarded favorably. Previous experience in emergency vehicle operations is preferred. Previous Critical Care training and experience preferred.

Education

Certificate or Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Technology. Minimum requirement is completion of the requirements for licensure (DOT curriculum paramedic program) recognized by the Oklahoma State Department of health in accordance with EMS regulations which allows individual to sit for the State and National Registry exams for licensure as an EMT.

No experience required.

Licensure/Certification

Must be at least 21 years of age in order to be insured by NRH carrier. Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license. Must remain insurable by the NRHS/EMSSTAT vehicle insurance company by maintaining a good driving record and meeting any other requirement as set forth in the policy. Must have and maintain a current Oklahoma Paramedic License. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of hire through the NRHS American Heart Association RQI system and maintained throughout employment.
