Overall Summary: The Supervisor, Underground to oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical systems for Duquesne Light Company (DLC). Reporting to the General Manager, Underground, the supervisor will oversee field crews, ensure compliance with safety standards, and coordinate projects to meet operational and regulatory requirements. Physical Requirements: Normal office environment, some travel to different company service locations Must have the ability to participate in field visits to work sites with less the desirable conditions, including but not limited to climbing ladders, walking in wooded areas, or visiting hazardous locations Must be able to work extended hours in emergency situations. Extensive driving (including off-road) during normal and emergency conditions. Work Environment: Position is consideredfully on-site, meaning this position will generally perform all duties at a company location and/or in the field. Reporting location may be subject to change based on job role and department needs. Scope: Primary focus is on day-to-day management of operational execution for areas managed. Trains and develops staff. Plans the workflow. Directs available resources to accomplish process improvement. Leads workflow changes and implementations for direct team. Decision Impact: Problems and issues are undefined require detailed info gathering, analysis, and investigation to understand/resolve. Makes decisions that address workflow issues considering immediate impact on own function or work unit. Storm Roles: All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manager for this position, as duties can vary across the Company. Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as: working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service, or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc. Data Governance: Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities, and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
